I have tried and lost weight many times in the past but it always goes back on with extra added pounds!! I need a lifestyle change. Really hoping this time I can do it. Thinking of it as a lifestyle change rather than a dietπ

I agree with Ceals i know I can't go back to my old eating habits once I reach a healthy weight. It's about living a healthier life π
Welcome Swansgirl1970 ! You are on the right mindset now...focus on lifestyle change rather than diet. Diets are restrictive in nature and aren't sustainable in the long haul. Start by cleaning up your meals, one meal at time so that you do not find it overwhelming. Once you have mastered that, calculate your daily calorie range and work with it. With time, you will notice the weight drop off.
If possible plan and prep your healthy meals in advance to avoid binge eating on foods that will negate your efforts.
All the best!
My best weight loss last year was whilst I was very happy and physically and mentally pre-occupied with looking after and riding an elderly horse who I had on loan. If you can find a hobby or interest that is all consuming ...ballroom dancing? kick-boxing? painting or writing? gardening? you will find you have less time to think about snacking and will burn off a whole load of calories doing something you enjoy. At the moment, I am busy planning for my retirement (hopefully next year) when I will have more time available so I can have my own horse again. A great incentive not to slip back to where I was last January, but it has been difficult not regaining those wretched pounds when I am in the house so much more!
