I’m 47 with a bad back which limits my exercise and since have gained nearly two stone. I desperately need to sort my weight out, so here I am. I am a comfort eater and my downfall is snacking. I’m hoping to find useful information as to the right foods to choose and new ideas.

Hello well I’m actually here
Hi and welcome to the community!
welcome sq17 and good going to join us! this is a fabulous forum designed to support you in your weight loss journey. we are supportive and full of good and sometimes funny advice to help you in your losses. i am losing about 2 pounds a week which sounds like not much but according to all my friends here it is the perfect way to keep it off. so if you start and lose slow chin up! it is the right way to go. enough about me. let us know more about you. as far as snacking goes, i have finally almost... quit. i still eat the occasional cookie and had some fried potatoes for dinner but much less than i used to. the good thing is once you have started losing a little, your stomach will shrink and you will require less food to fill it up. the problem for me of course is that i comfort eat too. if you can, find a really cool hobby to fill your time instead of eating and you will start feeling better about yourself .. at least i did. i do cross stitch sewing or walking my dogs. when i walk (slowly) with my dogs, i get exercise, and some sun on my face. my husband recommends sun on your face at least every day. good luck and let us know how you are doing!

Hi sq17 and welcome, easy how the weight goes on when you have a bad back as I've experienced but I'm sure we can lose it if we focus! I'm a bit confused as your post reads almost identical to one above by Karrieann is this a massive coincidence or have you posted twice in the same forum by mistake! Just so I know who I'm talking to! Good luck 😀
Hi Fran182716 I think i posted twice didn't know what to do. i haven't read Karrieann. I have bad back thanks
Goodness that was a coincidence then, another person had posted just before you almost word for word the same post! Welcome to the forum, there are quite a number of people who's ability to exercise is hampered by an illness or physical problem so you're not alone. I was pretty active till July when my bad back started and I've found it very difficult and put a lot of the weight I lost back on, but not all of it and I'm now trying to stop the gain and start losing again. It is possible because I've seen others do it, but it will be slower so I think patience is the key word! Good luck 😀
Good morning Sq17, I found cutting back on snacking helps, as I have sweet tooth I still have odd cereal bar or banana, for me eating little and often works. Keeping busy helps, distracting the mind.Wishing you well on your weight lose journey.
