My fat fairy is being very loud today and I need all the strength in the world to ignore the moo. Time of the month and full of cold, the fat fairy is telling me indulging in a massive bar of chocolate is a fabulous idea. ( yes I do have that craving at 8.35am).
Haven’t a clue what I am eating today as hubby is also full of cold so going to need all our wits to make sure our walking 14 month old doesn’t run riot.
Pointless post really other than I’m hoping come bed time tonight I haven’t eaten my body weight in chocolate and other rubbish things. Instead I’m hoping we can gather ourselves and nip out for some fruit and other healthy nom noms.
I want to beat this fat fairy. Please wish me luck 😀

Not a pointless post at all
Sorry to hear you and hubby are full of cold, you can avoid that chocolate you have the will power
Wishing you a great day and hoping the 14 month old isn't having you running ragged today x x
Very valid point from Concerned. You need substantial nourishing food, soup, eggs for protein, a few healthy low GI carbs, and some vitamin boosting fruit if you can face it. 😊
Remember, we crave calorie dense foods when we are tired or ill, it’s basic biology, a throw back from a pre-historic time, it’s better to go with it but eat good quality foods.
I remember being ill with a very active toddler, it’s tough 😕 but we are all cheering you on 😊
My hubby has volunteered to go out and get us some healthy nom noms. Thankfully we don’t have any chocolate in the house so don’t have to resist it, just ignore the feeling of wanting it.
Fingers crossed I have a good food update tonight 😊
best idea, not to have chocolate ,biscuits, cakes,in house,if you dont have in your cupboard, you cant eat it,it has worked for me,a nothing thing ,when you go shopping, never go hungry,as you want to buy everything,go when you have eaten, that makes a big difference, good luck you can do it
🍀 🍀 🍀. Sending you all the luck I can muster. I know how you feel it's horrible when you feel ill and just want to eat rubbish all day. You can beat that craving I know you will.
It’s more out of habit then having a craving per se. I used to do well on watching calories, then get ill and think I have cart Blanche to eat what I want. My body is telling me chocolate will make me feel better, my mind is telling me it will make me worse. It’s just a battle of wills at the moment.
Sorry for the delay. Little man took a tumble so needed lots of mummy cuddles.
I wish 85% would stop me at just one piece but unfortunately it doesn’t. I could still munch a bar. It’s like an addiction.
Your soup sounds amazing. Will have to give it a try sometime. Thankfully my hubby not as bad as me so is going out to stock up on healthy food to make this weekend easier.
Tomorrow is all planned out and really looking forward to our dinner already.
Thank you so much for your advice and I will let you know how the soup turns out 😊
Glad it isn’t just me. So far I had toast and lots of herbal teas and I’m winning. Got some apricots for later which I’m looking forward to 😊
It is normal to crave chocolate at the time of the month, I am pretty sure it's to do with lack of magnesium or something so don't beat yourself up about it.
Blame the hormones!
Tomorrow is a fresh start 😀
Update: thank you so much everyone for all your support and advice today. I managed to eat within my calories ( 2017 in total) and managed to limit myself to just one choc hazelnut cornetto and plenty of fruit and veg.
Ha ha fat fairy I have beaten you today.
Still full of cold so off to bed soon but hoping tomorrow will be a easier day.
Only seeing this today-it is a really encouraging read about your triumph to make goods choices, when feeling down. I'm going to try to take a similar approach (as yesterday was not a good day food wise because I was so tired). I'll take heart from your posts. Well done you!
I was in this exact position last week (minus a toddler). I used to be exactly the same about chocolate - it became sort of a culture with my sister and parents of just ‘somethings wrong —> chocolate’.
All I can suggest is trying to remember why you’re doing this journey, and tell yourself if you have a bar of chocolate on one day just don’t let that spiral you and get back to it tomorrow. It won’t ruin everything, just slow down progress a little. And for the future, try to find alternatives - I get special k fibre brownies (87 calories each) and Cadbury’s chocolate mousses (90 calories each) to satisfy the chocolate craving.
