Lagging Behind

I am still settling down to this diet. I have just really started exercising, over the last 6 weeks I have been getting accustomed to the counting calories. I have not lost significant weight because I go over, but I feel lighter and clothes fix loosier, so I'm not going to fuss, I will get their.

Every little bit in the right direction helps. Doing it at your own pace is good and it's a change of eating and exercise routine not a short term diet fix so you are more likely to stick with it. Well done, be proud. 🙂

Good luck to you!

Hi WendyKathleen are you following the NHS 12 week plan?

it took me a wee while to get into the healthier eating etc as well - but now it just comes naturally, although I occasionally go over too like last night :)

I personally think you have the right attitude, something is working if your clothes feel looser and you feel lighter. Just keep making changes and you will get there. I found after a couple of months my food choices changed completely as I started to understand more about good fats, carbs to avoid, adding in protein to keep me full - even though I still find it hard to loose the weight, I know that my diet is very much healthier than it was.

Wishing you good luck :)

Slow and steady wins the race WendyKathleen 😊 I think it's very wise to focus on how you feel rather than the scales

Life long management of weight is a marathon, not a sprint, so continue with the changes you've so far implemented. Don't attempt to change everything overnight, as doing so is likely to leave you feeling overwhelmed.

In the initial interim, by simply reducing consumption of simple/refined carbohydrate and continuing to exercise frequently, success will be enjoyed.

If clothing fits more comfortably and energy levels have increased, progress is certainly being made. While many obsess upon the figure presented by the scales, an improving composition is your greatest indicator, since it means that the body possesses less excess fat.

However, by ensuring that you don't routinely exceed maximum allowance (or TDEE), allowing a weekly deficit to be created, body weight should eventually reduce in the manner that you want it to.

Depending upon how much you've so far lost, with each 7-10lb reduction, re-asses your numbers, since the body will require fewer calories to satisfy energy demands (assuming level of activity remains the same).
