I break time up into slots when I feel like this. E.g. Tidy bedroom then watch 1 episode of my favourite program. Then go for a half hour walk then read some of my book.... etc. By the end of the day I have done all my jobs and managed to relax as well. Start small and do 15 mins of 'something' in between. It works!

What a great idea 119goal 😊 I do this too, spread out the fun things in between the chores

The most important thing for weight loss is diet, watch what you are eating and stick within your calorie range and the pounds will drop. Then add in any extra movement, start small, a ten minute walk around the block, it doesn't need to be a big deal 😊

For motivation that comes from within, you have to really want it and truly believe you can do it. We are all here cheering you on!

Try starting with things you can do while on the sofa. Keeping your hands and mind busy is a good starting point for breaking away from habits such as snacking and watching tv. Try sewing/fixing things/doing puzzles/doing a free online course/learning a language etc. There's a sense of achievement in stuff like that which is motivating too. Also maybe try to address your back pain. Can you do something more for it in terms of physio/pain relief? Just a little improvement might make a big difference, e.g. really try to do some kind of physio exercises every day, even if just 5 mins. I also do the technique that 119goal describes. E.g. put the radio on/or a cd and switch tasks everytime a new song starts. It's a bit absurd but it works :)

What do you think about swimming? It is most gentle, especially if you will swim on your back (not front).

You can try this workout for core:

Have you been to chiropractor for check and allignment correction or physio for some advice and exercises? It may be a good idea.

I also agree with what was already said, start small, 10-15 min 1-3x a day. It can be a walk, exercises of upper body or core at home.

Good luck!

PS. Someone smart wrote that motivation is overrated, it is discipline what we need. We won't always feel like it and we just need to have discipline and habit of doing it, like brushing your teeth. This made me thinking and change of my point of view helped me a lot.

So agree, discipline is most important - something I need to work on.

Just make it your #1 priority. Make sure it's fit into your daily schedule. I live in Fl and it's almost 90 degrees right now but I'm out here. Just did 2.5 miles so taken a 5 min break and then do another 2 miles. I'm 68 raising 2 grandchildren- picking up from school, right now they both have football practice and I rarely miss a day. You CAN do it! No excuses!!!

My back hurts too my knees hurt (I wear a brace and my hips hurt. Sometimes you gotta take the pain as long as your doctor approves!

What is wrong with your back, have you had it checked?

I had the same issue and not to advertise a product I found getting a Fitbit tracker helped just because it logged steps taken and stairs climbed so on a daily basis I could see what I'd actually achieved also you get e mails awarding you badges when you reach goals.Im not specifically endorsing Fitbit, any fitness tracker or step counter would do I just found that having a daily record helped as I tend to look at it and think is that all I've done, I better take the dog for a walk or go to the park with the kids etc.Hope you find this helpful.Good luck and all the best x

Remember too that motivation can FOLLOW action too.... sit up straight and take a deep breath. Drink a glass of water and see how you feel. The next action will come more easily!!
