Hello all, I have felt compelled to write here as I've been losing weight since the end of January this year. I have simply cut out on rubbish and reduced my calorific intake to around 1600-1900 cals a day; eating proper food which has the right balance of protein, carbs and fat and have begun regular, but not too stressful exercise. For me, that has resulted in a weight loss of 58 LB which is over four stone. I'm feeling quite energised now and optimistic of losing the rest, with the help of my trusty Fitbit!!! I suffer from poly arthritis and problems with my Achilles' tendons but I did the 10k steps a day for breast cancer in June to try to help a good cause, whilst motivating myself! Here's to the next 4 stone!!

You have done brilliant to lose 58lbs so far that is fantastic going, well done you.
Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.
Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.
Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.
Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.
We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us today. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.
To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Well done, amazing to have achieved all of that, you have done as I am wanting to do. A good attitude to calories and exercise , I will take a leaf out of your book as it sounds more sustainable than my original plan. I posted as a newbie on Tuesday but so far have failed miserably again with too many strict rules on myself. So clean slate today and I will follow youd example, thank you.

Well done Vicky, that is a fantastic weight loss. Like you I have been eating healthy and have lost almost 3 stone. I don't count calories though I just cook from scratch and cut out all unhealthy snacks. Good luck.
