I am 5ft7 and my weight is 10 stone, people say I have a nice figure , and no one has ever called me overweight but I can't help but feel that . Last year I weighed only 8st !!! I was so happy and healthy at that weight, I am very low on energy and find excises very hard as I have severe Anemia. I just feel very ugly and fat I don't even want to go outside ...I have absolute no idea on how to diet at all, as a vegetarian!!! :( has anyone got any suggestions it's really my last resort now .

Hi Malieeeka

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us today. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Have a good first week.

Rose

As you are well within the healthy weight range are you sure you need to lose weight? Personally I wouldn't want to suggest strategies for doing so for fear of doing the wrong thing. Please think carefully before you decide what to do. Good luck .

hello I am 5ft 3" and would find 8st too skinny- I felt like that at 8st5lbs when I went down to that weight due to training and I am shorter than you. You don't mention your age or gender but based on the info you have given your BMI would be 17 which is malnourished and unhealthy- lowest would be 20 to remain in healthy range.

I would speak to your GP about your concerns since your BMI is 22 which is slap bang in the middle of the healthy range, but if you want to loose weight you'd only need to loose 7lbs and that would take you to 9st 7lbs BMI 20

Hope that helps

Thank you so much for your response! It's helped me a lot but I just know what would mentally make me feel better and at 8st 10 I would feel so much better

Is it more a question of fitness Malieeeka ? Maybe rather than trying to 'diet' try eating less high calorie foods, especially sweet things, and increase your exercise? Do you write a food diary? Why don't you join us on the Daily Diary for help and suggestions with day to day meal plans 😊

Hi,

Have you read this?

everydayhealth.com/anemia/a...

Hope it is of some help.

Hi you might have been happy at that weight but I can't see the healthy bit though. The two don't equate. I am 5 feet 8 and female and when I was young I weighed around 9 and a half stone and I was slim. When I dropped to 9 stone while people told me I looked good I was too thin and didn't feel very healthy. I was definitely skinny. I can't see that at 8 stone you would be anything other than skinny with your bones sticking out.

If that's the look you want then that's up to you, but don't kid yourself it's healthy coz it's not.

Not what you're looking for?
