Thoughts on stopping eating early...

Ive been trying to stop eating by 6, 7 at the latest. It works but there's a big risk of falling off the wagon around midnight if you push your luck. But I've noticed even if you have a big bowl of pasta for lunch, if you have a light, early supper you're almost guaranteed to drop a pound, probably two and occasionally even three overnight.

Anyway, would love to hear anyone's experience with front loading their day eating-wise. Thanks! :)

I have a cut-off of 8pm. I tried making it earlier, but then got too hungry later on, so 8pm works fine for me.

I think it's unlikely that you're going to lose 3lbs of fat overnight, it's more likely to be water loss, from not eating carbs late at night :)

It never crossed my mind you could lose different kinds of weight but now you point it out of course it seems obvious - thank you!

I battled to stop the evening nibbling and it's now a distant memory 😊 Breakfast like a king, lunch like a queen and supper like a pauper 😊

Anna61, would love to hear more about how you - as our American friends like to say - "transitioned" to eating less as the day progressed, what food you found sustained you etc,,. I find that a fairly big lunch is essential - or i buckle around 11 pm - the key word for me is realistic. Salad for lunch, say, will not sustain me across a food-free evening/night but a bowl of brown pasta might...

Will try this, my weakest time is in the evening so I'll try a conscious cut off time. Thank you 👍🏻😊

I go the opposite route, in fact. I ensure I eat a good portion of protein, either a big bowl of Greek yogurt or pot of cottage cheese, about half an hour before bedtime. this causes a spike in amino levels, raising resting energy expenditure, thus increasing overnight fatburn. It also raises ATP levels, so aiding recovery and increasing energy levels when I wake up in the morning. I always do fasted cardio in the mornings so increased energy levels are a real boon.
