On the snail highway!

I had to share this with you......

When I was swimming this morning, changing strokes, up and down the pool ,quite pleased with myself, I had this light bulb moment.. my first half stone is achievable and I will be there soon.

It may not be the quickest way to lose weight, but it is much healthier, and has made me consider portion sizes, and healthy choices.

I was once told that if you don't put enough fuel in your car, it won't work, the same goes for the body, it won't necessarily speed up the weight loss.

So I try to keep to my calorie allowance, and top up with a bowl of porridge in the evening, if I have enough cals left.

Exercise wise I am swimming once a week, walking gently, and will just wait for results of MRI to see what damage my knee has. I still get 10,000 steps most days.

Onwards and upwards slowly I go ..

I will be posting on here, until I reach my target.. which is a long way off, but I will get there :)

Hi cer2dwin

It does not matter how slow you lose it as long as your going in the right direction that is what counts.

I like your idea of topping up with a bowl of porride in the evening with any left over calories.

I like the porridge idea as well. I crave it in the morning so why not have it again... where possible.

Good for you, definitely its the best approach. It takes time to change your lifestyle and learn new habits. If you want the weight to stay off, there's no rush. Enjoy your swimming!
