Loss of weight
Hi carolerose
Welcome to the weight loss forum.
Sorry to say you can not lose 2 stone in 6 weeks healthy, but following the 12 week plan you can lose some of it safely and keep it off!
Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.
Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.
Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.
We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.
To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.
Have a good first week.

This equals losing about 4.5lbs a week for six weeks (ish) - which I just don't think IS safe. Maybe for the first two weeks it would be obtainable, but I cannot see any safe or healthy ways to accomplish this.
However, 1 stone in six week is completely achievable and will make a big difference - this is the maximum amount I would aim for in such a short period of time.
Saying that it does depend slightly on your current weight. The more overweight you are, and the worse your eating/exercise habits are, the more profound an impact big changes can have. If you're already closer to a healthy weight - I think 0.5lb/1lb a week is a better target to aim for.
If you were to lose two stone in six weeks, I don't think the chances of you keeping it off are very good - especially if it's just for an event in six weeks time, as if you revert back to normal habits afterwards you're likely to pile it all back on straight away.
I can understand wanting to lose weight quickly (I've got a wedding to attend a week Thursday and wanted to lose 1 stone more than I have by then!!) but overall health for long-term is a better thing to aim for
I will manage my ecpectation.
Hi Carol - it is probably not a good idea. 1 stone in 6 weeks can be done, but not two - or at least not in a healthy and sustainable way. I suggest you have a look at the NHS 12 week plan and follow it to the letter - and in 12 weeks you may have lost your 2 excess stone or most of it. Good luck.
Hi carolrose. I'm a new by on this forum but have been dieting for almost 40 years. I know exactly how your feeling, but trust me it is not the way yo Ho. It's taken me all this time yo realise that yes, you can loose 2 stone in six weeks, I've done it, but it is not healthy and extremely short-lived. Last year my daughter and I decided to diet in preparation for her wedding. She has two young children so couldn't afford time or money for special foods or gym subscriptions. We aimed to loose 1stone in three months. I lost mine in 4 weeks. She took 3 months. By the wedding date I'd put on 10lbs having struggled to keep at least some of it off. She on the other hand looked lovely and slim having achieved her goal. Since then I gave gained an additional 6lbs meaning I am now 2lb heavier than when I started and that gas been a real struggle! Since then she has gone on to loose an additional 4 lbs and looks amazing! Typical tortoise and hare ! This time I'm doing it the proper way 🙄😄
