Emotional Eating

Grrrrr - why is it when I get upset the first thing I want to do is eat!! Really need to get control of it - on a positive I have not eaten yet so will learn another way to cope which will then not leave me feeling guilty! Fingers crossed the feeling will not last too long xx

A lot of us react in the same way, Weygirl and it's all about learning new coping mechanisms. The fact that you've come here to offload, is a huge step forward and much more beneficial than eating :)

Any delay tactic that you can use, to get you past that first impulse, is good. You could try going for a walk/run/dance, especially if it takes you away from food sources. If you leave the house, don't take money with you, so you won't be tempted to buy a bar, or 6 of chocolate :)

You can do this and hopefully, we can help :)

Thank you for reply - I did go out away from temptation. I think this forum really helps me as when I have I a moment I can write a post about it, which is a great distraction from my normal routine of getting something to eat xx
