Today I have decided to start calorie counting, I've never done this before and really hoping it works. Would like to drop around 10lb ( more would be good but need to be realistic). I've done SlimmingWorld for a few years but the pounds are creeping back on as my heart isn't in it anymore, I stick to it for a few days then give up. Think I just need something different to focus on and hopefully this will be for me. Any tips would be much appreciated ๐.

Starting today ๐
Hello Uppo27 and welcome to the weight loss forum โบ You have taken an important decision and I'm sure you will have success โบ This forum is fabulous for support in your journey.
The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you โบ
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news โบ
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for โบ
Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate โบ
The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page โบ
You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask โบ
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too โบ
Best wishes
Anna

Hello all
I'm starting today too, and have about 10lb to lose - a bit more would be better. Calorie counting is a pain but it has worked for me in the past. Even just noting down what I eat makes a difference.
I can't go mad with exercise as I'm just recovering from some foot problems which I have had for over a year and which have contributed to the weight gain. Just building up the steps again, aiming for average 7000 per day this week.
Does anyone know where the weigh-in bit is on this site?
Good luck, Carol
