Is this portion too big?

I made a lasagna with my fiance but not sure if this portion is too big?

Ingredients

Lean mince 5% fat

Own tomato sauce

Lasagna sheets

Mini mozzarella

A sprinkling of Parmesan

Parsley

I would say it looks quite big, pasta is quite calorific, does it have a cheese sauce in as well as Parmesan. It looks great though... and it depends what you have had all day. Send any spare over to me!

Maybe I should cut a portion off to take to work, yes has Parmesan

That's a good idea, left over lasangna is great. Are you calorie counting?

Yes but struggling a lot with it knowing how much to eat etc

I think you have to weigh stuff. I don't calorie count but I eat low carb as I know that's where too many calories were coming from

Check your BMI on the NHS website and it will tell you how many calories you should be eating PheonixJo .

Hi there PheonixJo , Firstly I would like to say your lasagne looks delicious!! What I normally do is when I make a dish I count each ingredient's calories that go into it and almost make it a recipe to keep. I then work out how many calories it would be per portion.... 1000 cal in 4 portions would then work out to a mere 250 cal pp, but 2 portions would make up a whopping 500pp :) I then keep the recipe for future use and up or down the portionsize. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but if you do it once you can use it forever and ever:). Hope this helps you.
