I'm back with my weight loss review. If you wonder why week 5 review is missing that's because it was the week before my holiday. So I didn't get time to do it.
I didn't lose weight in week 5, despite being good with calories counting, water intake and exercise. Maybe my body was adjusting to all the changes?
Then it was my holiday, you may already known, I put on 0.4kg, for an all inclusive, I think it's pretty good. Thanks Anna, I did have a lot of yummy salad and walked a lot. But I think it's going to be my last all inclusive holiday, for obvious reasons.
Then it took me a week to get back to my healthy eating and exercise routine.
Last week was not easy, on day one I had more than 2000 kcal!
I managed to come back to my daily 1400 target. But if I'm being honest, I only had 3 days close to or met my target, my water intake and fruit and veggie intake weren't good either.
So I was quite pleased to see a weight loss of 0.4kg, which means i'm back to my pre holiday weight.
I've done my planning and shopping for the coming week, it's all about planning and preparing in my experience.
One thing i'm going to change forever is that I will not have buffet, all you can eat again (i mean dinning out, not including hotel breakfast and birthday parties), as I read NHS12 week week7's weight loss tips. To me, It totally makes sense stop having buffet. Whether it's the greed in me or frugality in me(i hate wasting), I always end up stuffed, till the point I don't enjoy it anymore.
My experiences tell me I'm much happier and healthier just order small portion and finish what's on my plate.
Have a great weight loss week!

Glad you enjoyed your holiday happyhealthyjane ☺ I agree with you about buffets, they are very difficult to navigate sensibly! I think you did really well to only gain 0,4 kg which is minimal really, and to lose it so quickly is excellent ☺
Very well done for getting back on track so quickly ☺
Well done Helen on starting your weight loss journey! I'm humbled you felt I could continue a thing or two on how you should start your weight loss. What got me started was my motivation to get healthy cause I have a few family members with diabetes, and I want to be a good role model for my son for healthy living. Once you have your motivation decided, you have your big goal and weekly target set, the rest is down to forecast potential weight loss barriers(i.e. dinning out), plan ahead (I.e. when to exercise) and preparation (I.e. count calories of the meal you'll cook).
There are so many here have had much bigger weight loss and far more experience and success on this forum. I hope you find great support here!
happyhealthyjane has provided you with a number of useful pointers on how to get started.
I was wondering if you have read any of the intros that the administrators provide when someone new announces themselves? They supply lots of information on how to get started. On the off chance that you have not I've tagged moreless IndigoBlue61 .
I'm very pleased that Tiggerr tagged me, to alert me to the fact that you haven't had an introduction to the forum
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Take a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
I'm going to have this challenge when I go to centre parcs with work- I tend to spend a lot of time eating though also do a lot of exercise so hopefully it will balance out but I'm not expecting any weight loss next Tuesday when I am weigh myself but as long as its not too much I'll be happy
Good for you doing a lot of exercise! I'm not as active, so I have to watch more carefully what I eat, it's a number game when it comes to calorie counting. But I do find I eat healthier as a result, truth is: healthier options often do have less calories
