Unfit
If you had an event to train for this might give you the motivation. Earlier this year I completed the Half Moon Walk (13miles) after 12 weeks training. When I started off my training I was very slow and out of breath but had no problems on the night. Good luck.
Hello R59859 and welcome to the forum. I think that if you are new to exercise it is probably best to start off slowly, and perhaps talk to your GP if you have health issues. Perhaps some walking. Some of us have found the fitness trackers very motivating. I use the Fitbit HR. Adopting a healthier diet and some walking would I am sure see a rise in your fitness levels in four months.

Yes it is never too late to start and if you are very unfit then small steps will make a big difference. If you are not confident about exercise, your gp may be able to refer you to an exercise on prescription scheme. Why have you set yourself a target of 4 months out of interest? Good luck. 😀
Hi R59859
I was just days before my 70th birthday when I joined this forum, and wanted to lose 2st 10lbs. Like you, I have health issues and was very unfit. It took a while but with the help of all the lovely folk on here and following the 12 week NHS plan (which I am re-doing), I am almost at my goal. 😀
Perhaps take little steps at first, give yourself small goals (e.g. get down to the next half stone or walk for ten minutes). You can gradually increase your exercise as you become fitter, slimmer and healthier. Take your measurements, sometimes when the scales aren't being kind, you may still lose inches 👍
You can get fitter in four months, provided you really want to and are prepared to put the effort in, and we will be here to support you every step of the way. Start by joining the Monday weigh in tomorrow (post will be done by one of our lovely Admins, moreless). I find this makes me more accountable each week.
Good luck 🍀

Absolutely, yes!!! In my first 4 months I lost 10% of my body weight which health professionals suggest makes a significant difference to health and fitness. 😊 As others have suggested walking briskly, just for short lengths of time, will also help 😊
Best wishes
