Exercise can give you more energy for the day ahead....

Morning losers

Well I popped out Sunday morning, yes I am one of those 'get up at 5am on a Sunday' to go for what is called an 'LSD' which, for our non competitive runners is the Long Slow Distance run which allows the body to go a long way without too much stress and not risking injury. If you are doing the C25K plan then a long slow run at least a minute or two below race pace really will help you get to your goal. I was just trying to find out how my training was going as I am doing the Ipswich Half Marathon in two weeks only to find that I was able to knock 4 minutes off my fastest time. Happy days for me........

Anyway, for those that feel ill at the thought of doing exercise, if you do suffer with low energy levels and find it hard to get off the sofa or motivated to go and do exercise then there is a thing you should know. Doing exercise actually increases your energy levels. The more you exercise the more energy your body produces, the more fat your body burns as fuel and helping you to shed those extra calories getting you closer to your goal.

As I have always said, you don't need to go out like Usain Bolt but, instead go at a pace where you can hear your breath but still be able to hold a full conversation. After a few weeks you'll find that you can actually go faster yet at the same breathing. This is because you have shed some weight and got fitter. It will also give you an endorphin release which is the happy drug naturally found in the body which gives can make you feel happier and also is great at pain relief.

So go on losers, get ones bottom off the sofa and get outside and do something. The Paralympics are here tomorrow so use that to inspire you to greater more positive things.....

Good luck

Loser Gary........

So you are on LSD Hidden ! this is how you got rid of the excess and got to run half marathons ;)

Just kidding, I am on LSD every weekend ;)

Well done on your Sunday run, I can vouch for the increased energy levels after exercise, in fact I run every morning around 6 am and my days go much better than when i didn't do it :)

Happy birthday then and enjoy your HM and the run with your grandson! :)

have a great taper time, and best of luck from Ireland (ok... Northern Ireland, but the luck is the same ;)

right, indeed exercise can make you hungry and therefore there is a risk for increased intake in calories not counterbalanced by physical activity.

But the energy point of this post stands :) Exercise, even if makes you tired physically, gives you more energy for the day! :)

Fantastic video of a very slim lady in a bikini. Really. She says she lost 10lbs in a week. That is only having a deficit of 5000 calories a day plus you have to lose the calories you eat. Don't believe her? No, nor do I....... I have never seen a healthy eating group that would recommend a 5000 calorie A DAY deficit on top of what you're eating............ Sorry but madness......

25lbs in three weeks......That's a deficit of 4,166 calories every day. I have ran 20 miles in the morning and not lost that many calories...........
