I am wondering if you have been eating sufficiently for your daily needs? Have you put your details into the NHS BMI calculator to get the recommended calorie range to aim for - it is important to have the range that is correct for your height, weight and activity levels, and I would suggest maybe checking to see whether you have been eating sufficiently?
I hope it helps you. Maybe join our weekly weigh-in sessions - let me know if you would like me to give you the link to today's session, as it is going on currently.
I think that it won't be the cutting out of the crisps and choc that will be the issue. These are the obvious not great things that we eat, the things that people raise an eyebrow at. Now, I thought I had healthy eating cracked. I honestly did. We are intelligent people and we know what we should or shouldn't be eating. However, I was wrong. I have relearnt how to basically put a meal together through support via this forum. Simple food swaps will help you to lose weight, weighing ingredients and having a smaller plate or bowl are the game changers to sustained weight loss I promise you.
Lowcal has suggested that you get a bmi so that you eat the correct number of calories. Don't try to undercut this in an attempt to fast track weight loss as your body will complain bitterly. Load your plate with veg or salad. Swap to wholegrain brown rice, grill don't fry and try to include lots of pulses.
When you know what your calorie allowance is, note down what you eat. You can allow yourself some treats so that you don't feel like you are missing out but add these into your daily total.
I appreciate that exercise is going to be extremely painful for you so I wouldn't worry about that at this point.
I hope you don't think I am being patronising, I really am not. It's just I know that I was going wrong by not reading labels properly and not really understanding how to eat slow release foods that may have similar calories to other foods but keep you fuller for longer.
I wish you every success and you just post if you are fed up. That is what we are here for. Xxxx
If I may I would like to say the same, I was always "eating healthily" as I thought but still gained weight 😕 Portion control and little sneaky snacks that I 'firgot' to count were the culprits 😕 Please don't despair, judejude 😕 2lb gain over 9 weeks shows you are very close to maintaining, you really are, just another little tweak to calories and you will soon be losing 😊
