Hi all,
I looked into getting a Fitbit, but it's too pricey for me. I really just want to count steps; can you recommend what I should go for please?
Thanks for reading 😊

I got bought a Garmin vivofit which is just as good. If that helps.
Hi, have a look on Amazon, they do just simple straightforward pedometers really cheaply. I just bought a Jawbone Up Move which was just over £20 but it might me more than you want to be bothered with. It works alongside an app and can record steps, exercise, distance, sleep patterns, weight change, calories and more! I love it, but you do have to log all your food intake, which I actually enjoy doing!
Hi like Caz28 says my daughter bought a jaw bone Up Move off Amazon a couple of weeks ago and she too loves it, to be honest I have a fit blaze ( it was a birthday gift) and I love that but hers is just as good, I know you can interact challenges with other fit users so I am probably not using it to it's full potential as I am not really into technology, so for me the jaw bone at a fraction of the price would have been just as good.
Hi, my son has an Aldi version of the fitbit watch - think it was £20-30, and when we walk together it keeps very similar step tracking to my fitbit charge hr.. The only real difference is his doesn't do heart rate monitoring..
If you have a smart phone there are many apps that are step counters/ mileage indicators/ calorie counters etc. Some show your route on a map. Some tell you at intervals what you have achieved (nearly gave me heart failure first time it did it!). And they are all free!!!
Search "pedometer" in the app store.
I nearly jumped out of my skin the first time Endomondo told me my km/time!!
Thank you for all your comments. I will look into all of this 😊
Just a quick update.. I have had my Fitbit charge hr for 7 months and absolutely love it! Unfortunately today, the wrist strap has begun to lift away from the watch edge. Having looked online, there is no way of replacing the straps and so I am returning the Fitbit for a refund as if it happened to a replacement watch after the same time frame, it would be out of warranty from original purchase date - Amazon didn't quibble my request.. Makes me wonder whether it is a regular occurrence..
Just my twopence worth and I am quite sad to see it go, but, £100 is a lot of money for something that can't withstand daily wear.

(I'll be watching out for the Aldi deal!!)
Hi Kate like you I have a Fitbit charge hr and also love it , I've only had it since May so not had a problem with it however I'm finding some days it's saying I've done over 300 flights of stairs and I know that's not right ha ha , I was just wondering if anyone else is finding that too hope you don't mind me asking
Wow! Looks good on paper No, the most levels mine has logged is in the 80's and on a day when I'd done 30'000+ steps so think it was fairly accurate.. Do think all the apps have blips from time to time tho
Ha ha yes I guessed it was to good to be true but thank you for your reply I think I will just carry on taking notice of the steps and ignore my flights of stairs
