Well if it helps you feel any better, you have lovely youthful skin (lucky thing).
Losing those 11lbs can be done fairly gently at a pound a week if you are determined enough. Have a look at some of the You-Tube videos that get mentioned on here to get yourself moving. Keep a record of what you eat and try to limit your calories to 1400 a day or thereabouts.
Most of all, don't let those few pounds overweight make you feel down - there are many on here would love to only have that amount left to lose and who would envy you your figure!
Naturally you will feel better and more in control when you have lost it, but try and look outwards rather than in, can you find a place where you feel comfortable to spend time with animals, or caring for older people for example. I find caring for others always makes you feel good. Good luck for the future!

I'm a little pushed for time right now, but just wanted to welcome you - I'm sure someone will give you a full welcome later this evening or in the morning

Hi rainbow girl 84
The world is your oyster ,you will lose that,no problem.you are in a great place for support.
Just hang in there , something small will make you happy 😀👍
I also suffer from depression and I just wanted to add a few practical ways to help you. Firstly you need to do some kind of exercise. If you cant go on walks, buy an exercise dvd or check out some workout videos on YouTube, or even join a dance class if thats your kind of thing. Exercising releases endorphins, the feel good hormones that help with alleviating the depression. Try and eat healthy, I know its easier said than done but the food we eat also affects the way we feel. Buy these super supplements: vitamin B complex, omega 3 &6 and a good multi vitamin. Take these everyday! It will help with your mood, stress levels and general health.
And most importantly, hold those thoughts captive! Those thoughts of despair, hopelessness, helplessness and all the other negative thoughts that are constantly going through your mind! What I have done is that one day I decided to write them all down. Every single negative thought that came in was documented. And I know it sounds overwhelming and a lot of work but after some time you find that they are all more or less the same even though they come in different shapes and sizes. Once you have written them down try and analyse where they are coming from. dig deep. and finally replace that negative thought with a positive one! When you feel I feel like I just cant do it I quote 2 Timothy 1:7 - For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and SELF DISCIPLINE. This is what I was repeating to myself at my gym class yesterday and today while prepping my meals. and everytime I was felt down and felt like I cant. And you know what, it helps.
You have to be PURPOSEFUL about getting better. It wont happen by waving a magic wand. Its a long slow road back to recovery.
Good luck on your journey... and remember "my flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever"
He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds....
Hi I live in Telford I'm not sure where you are in the country but if you live in my area I would walk with you.i also live with depression and am overweight but I need to lose 3 stones
You say "my anxiety stops me going for long walks etc on my own". If that means that you could do and would enjoy walks but need company, check out the website of your local authority - with mine I'd start with "Leisure and Events" and drill down from there or search for "walking for health" . We have free walks led by trained walk leaders, so you would have company. I imagine most, if not all, local authorities have similar schemes.
Well you don't look anywhere 32 and have a really nice face How about a couple of short walks a day it does help to be out in the fresh air and hopefully sunshine I have anxiety I always tell myself I can turn round and go home whenever I want to it makes me go further I agree about looking for the health walks as they do them for all levels and I'm sure you will probably find a soulmate who is suffering with anxiety too
11lbs isnt an enormous amount to lose so I'm sure you will do it once you start to lose a couple of pounds you'll be so pleased and it will spur you on
Good luck and keep us all posted Its great to hear success stories I hope in time your depression and anxiety will lessen and go xx
