Nine weeks in......

I'm on week nine now and it's going really well...... I feel so much better physically and mentally. I have lost 11 kgs as of last week's weigh in, and my husband bought me a Fitbit as the pedometer they gave me at the weekly weigh in kept falling off! I love the Fitbit. It helps so much to be able to see the progress each day. The poor dog is exhausted with all the walking, but he loves it too. Every evening after work my husband, the old dog and I go walking. We have time to talk about our day and lots of other things, it's a rather nice time together - usually! We have been known to walk in complete silence for three quarters of an hour when we're cross with each other, but as that's only happened once, I suppose that's not too bad!! Mind you, we did walk very fast that evening! My aim is to get down to 100kg in the short term and in the late night term - well, who knows? 😊😊😊

Wow! Well done, I think it is the feeling better and fitter besides the weight loss that makes this journey well worth it. It is true you seem to forget to spend time together normally so taking a walk makes you talk ( unless you have fallen out lol ) I too love my fit bit and try to up the steps a little each day. Good luck on your journey you sound like you are on a mission.

Well done for your positive attitude, and successful losses so far!

After all his walks and healthy meals, do you find your husband is losing weight too? My partner has lost 12lbs since January - without even trying! He still eats the odd chocolate bar and loves his mid-morning bun, but with all the healthy main meals I have been serving, he is secretly quite pleased with his looser waistbands! I don't want him to lose any more though, I might have to start giving him bigger portions!

Yes, he's definitely fitter! Don't know about the weight loss as he never weighs himself! 12lbs is good since January isn't it? Is that just down to the walking then, do you think?

HI Jweanie,

Congratulations on all that weight loss you are doing fantastic :-)

Me and my boyfriend do exactly the same thing we take the dog for a walk everyday after work and just stroll along at a nice pace, chat and meet lots of other people walking their dogs. I enjoy this so much that it does not feel like you are exercising but it is still helping me get to my 10,000 steps each day

It's really nice to get out there for a walk and so much better than sitting in front of the tv.
