After just getting on the scales for my first weigh in and discovering the reality of how much I need to lose, I am unsure how I am ever going to lose THAT much weight!!!!

Welcome to the forum! It can be a bit daunting when you first weigh-in, but if you break down your weight loss into achievable goals - i.e. a step at a time, it can feel much more motivating and achievable.
I think you're sensible to take a day and a week at a time, it's a great approach.

If you like the look of it, then please do join us. You don't have to share your actual weight if you don't want to, it is optional, but at the same time we hope that people who do share their starting weights feel supported - we've all been there at the start, and it's a big step to take, so being part of a group can be supportive. But I do realise that group weigh-ins aren't for everyone.
