I have just reviewed my food and exercise diary for the past 16 weeks.
I've kept a(n obsessive!) record of every single thing I've consumed during that time, and estimated my total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) - from my Base Metabolic Rate and activity level. I've also recorded any additional exercise that I've done - walking, only, for the time being - and used the shapesense.com calculator to estimate how many calories I've burned doing it. I walk along some regular routes, so it's not a lot of effort to work out.
Over 16 weeks, I've lost around 15 kg. According to my paperwork, I've burned approximately 7,500 more cals/week during that time than I've been taking in.
A kg of fat is around 7,700 calories, so, the sums seem to add up. I'm shocked! There has to be a measure of coincidence in there, too, for sure.

Happy Tuesday, all!
