So I'm celebrating Christmas with my husband's family, this is making staying on the diet wagon really tricky! There's chocolate and food everywhere. Help!!

You decide whether it goes in your body or not. Either celebrate and adjust the rest of the week or just pick out what you can have. In laws can be tricky, I hope you have nice ones.

Fill up on as much veg/salad as you can so that you don't feel hungry, drink plenty of water, and try to only have a very small amount of any treat on offer, if you are trying to stick to plan. Also, if you haven't already you could just straight tell people you are trying to watch your weight and too much food will destroy your good work.

Alternatively, you could give yourself a few days off like I did at Christmas, but be warned...I literally didn't watch what I ate at all, and put on nearly half a stone in a week! Just remember how much harder it is to lose, and try to keep that in mind before over-indulging, I'd say. I certainly regretted not being more sensible at Christmas because it lost me 2 weeks where I might have had progress, instead I spent those getting rid of the weight I had put on, just to get back to my lowest weight. So it did hinder my progress.

I think it really depends on how patient you are about your weight loss journey. If you think you can afford to put on a few pounds and be happy slowing your journey towards the end goal, then go for it. If it is more likely to make you lapse into old eating habits and you will begrudge having to work hard to lose the weight gained from those few moments on the lips, then try to avoid it like the plague!

Good luck!

Apart from the a cheeky pannacotta managed to stay on the right tracks! Phew!

Thank you for your words. It was the idea that how momentary the taste is versus the lengthy road to lose weight that made make good choices.

It feels pretty good to exercise will power :)
