We - husband and me - are doing Dry January. We were hoping to have FANTASTIC weight loss - but unfortunately, that has not happened. However we do go to SWorld (again) and we are dropping an average of 2lb per week each - so it's all about what you eat folks. Also, cutting out Alcohol is sooooooooooooooo motivating.

Best of luck to you and your husband with regard to continuing your Dry January. It sounds like you're making good progress as you're losing 2 pounds each week, I would doubt that you'd lose much more than that - unless you were doing something drastic, and losing that amount each week is a really healthy and sustainable amount to lose.
Great to hear you're finding it very motivating to have cut out alcohol.
Sounds like a great result, and wishing you another great week ahead.
The thing about alcohol is not just the calories in it. It is the "very clever" ideas you come up with after you have had a couple. Things like a kebab, cheese and biscuits another bottle.
Hi Aqua Marine - yep that is the problem! Just replied to Asics and said that another way to think is.... join the Rebellion! The rebellion of NOT drinking. We are in very good company - be a leader, not a follower.. Just look up 25 celebrities you didn't know were alcoholics on Google - incredible. If they can do it - we can.
Well for me, that is half the battle - impossible for me to have one glass of wine. Went dry for 10 months last time and within a couple of weeks, right back to bad again - and I mean bad.... Functioned ok but drinking every night and fortnightly a total mess.
Well I fell off last Wednesday - but climbed right back on. Loved the first glass of wine in the pub - but inevitably it went to many many more...... Next day, really felt the "pain" and actually realized it wasn't that great - and solved nothing..... So, back on the Dry Road again and feel so much better for it.
It happens. I have been there in the past. My husband is currently I'll so all temptations for social drinking have disappeared from my house for now. Although he is eating a lot of chocolate to compensate himself which I find a little hard.
