Well that's October out of the way with no booze, choc, crisps or takeaways. Tough going, but if I can do it, anyone can. I want to lose another 5lbs to get down to my stone marker before I give myself a treat, but challenges are meant to be precisely that: a challenge. Good luck to everyone who has set themselves a target this month. Remember that on this forum you will have support from some truly inspiring people, who'll be with you all the way. Why not set yourself a target, and see how far you get?

A month off the booze
Good for you! October went very quickly too! I'm trying to have non food or drink related treats now...pictures on Tuesday night with the girls and a pedicure on Thursday...not cheap but equal to the cost of the wine and choc I was buying...almost!
That sounds like a good idea. I have the house to myself most nights, so I'm going to assign one night a week to a girly pampering night - nails, face pack, etc.
I gave up alcohol on 7 th September. I miss it
Stick with it, think of all those empty calories. As an ex smoker, I thought I would struggle with cravings, but have only really wanted a drink on one occasion. My partner has given up with me, so I've had moral support, but he's now gagging for a beer!
Well done. don't know how you managed it. I don't have a weight problem so giving up choc, crisps and takeaways is easy but wine, women and song is totally impossible.
I have about 10 lbs to lose and 5lb to get to my 'stone marker' and then I'll give myself a treat. As the name implies, I'm a keen skier, and holidays are filled with apres ski drinking, then there's the free wine with evening meals, so I'm not exactly feeling deprived, and I'm sure my liver is feeling the benefit.
