Sometimes I am even more than glad to live in a small town on the edge of Dartmoor.
I went out walking twice today, and met so
many hilly roads, I burnt enough calories to have a "good" evening π and some spare calories by just choosing my route carefully. Tried a little (!!!) run today, and my shin behaved for a while. Taking it easy still as it hurts a bit towards the end. But I am getting moving again and it feels goood π

I need to try the tors but still building up my stamina a bit. I'm ok on tarmac and ground that isn't too uneven - did the old rail track at Princetown in the summer which was great too.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend whatever you decide to do
Really great that you enjoyed your walks and also managed a short run too. Glad you're feeling gooood, and looking forward to catching up with you at tomorrow's Monday Group weigh-in.
I think I give up the idea of running. Not sure I'm meant to. I think it's shin splints in one leg, and I rested it so long now, one little run ( I mean little, 30 seconds running, walking, 30 seconds running,....) and it's back. But at least I can walk VERY fast and then there are hills, hills and more hills πΆπ
I'm so jealous of you living there! My husband and I plan to move there in a couple of years' time when our son goes off to uni and we're not tied to our current location any more. We've been stuck in dull flat Cambridgeshire for 15 years, and are aching for the lovely green hills (though I confess I'm slightly nervous about running on them!).
We moved to Germany for 6 years, and as much as I loved to be back home with my family, I missed Dartmoor so much!!!
It is such an amazing place. I love climbing tors and finding proper wold spots, but sadly I haven't got much time at the moment. Also the kids moan when though they love it once they're out.
Have a google for Wistmans Woods. Shouldn't say it really as I love it not being overrun, but it's a flatish walk and it's 'the land where time stop still'.
