I weighed in this morning and have lost 1 1/2 lb this week bringing my total to 15 1/2lb in 11 weeks I am super pleased.
Now this may not seem a lot to some people, as was pointed out to me by a friend of a friend earlier this evening ( I quote 'just over a stone in 3 months, not much is it really'), I asked him how he would feel if he had put on that weight in the same time scale and he just said 'fat'. My brain was asking me if this guy was for real, had he any idea how hard it'd been to stick to my plan, to change so many things in 3 short months, my mouth said 'yeah, me too, that's why I'm turning my life upside down' I smiled ( with difficulty) and walked away from him.
For the record, I am proud of myself and this weight loss. I am chuffed for anyone who has had the tenacity to lose even 1lb in 3 months and still keep at it. I applaud anyone who makes the effort to change their lifestyle to be healthier, anyone who has failed but keeps on trying to succeed.
Wishing everyone a successful week and the scales are kind. 😘
Thankyou Jo. Fortunately he isn't a personal friend, really wouldn't surround myself with buffoons like him. I was at a charity event, ironically doing the catering for it - cupcakes and such, raising money for my friends cancer charity. Not sure if I would have turned the other cheek quite so easily if I hadn't been dead on my feet ( finished a 42 hour weekend that morning, straight home to baking, then to the event - I was seriously pooped). Apparently he could drop a stone in a fortnight if he chose to. Good for him hey? My friend said she wouldn't invite him to anything else, but for me, as long as he spent money to go to the charity I said to her invite him again to the next one but don't be surprised if I make an extra special something just for him - a real nice custard pie, lol.
even better- invite him to the next event, and the one after that and the one after that; until you get to the stage where he doesn't recognise you: and if he asks for your number, tell him NHS12.
Who you hang around with matters! I've been surprised by some of the people I spoke with about my weightless to find that others too have some something similar. They've been really encouraging (All gruff Yorkshiremen). Every pound lost is a step to victory!
Be Proud of yourself - you'll really thank yourself for this in years to come.
I would be delighted to lose that amount ....errrrr .....I mean I WILL be delighted when I lose that amount. Losing weight is one of the single toughest things I have ever done.
You'll get there hun, I agree it is very, very tough and the road is certainly rocky at times. Whenever we fail, the main thing is to dust ourselves down and not give up. Best of luck on your journey hun 😊
I think that's a great weight loss, and nice and healthy too. I would be happy with just a stone in 12 weeks !!

Thankyou Lucca 😊
You're losing weight at exactly the recommended rate for it to be sustainable. To have lost over a stone in 11 weeks is massive. You have also gained renewed fitness, a fresh outlook on life, and a lot of new healthy strategies in the kitchen and when eating out. Amazing! I bet you're wearing different clothes, noticing the change in your face, feeling less discomfort in your body, prob healthier inside as well as outside. Good luck going into week 12. I'm also in week 12. Didn't realise we're at the same point

Thanks Ruth, people like him actually strengthen my resolve to be healthier. We all make unthought out remarks at times, but some seem to take great pleasure at belittling others. For me personally, I get more pleasure from being able to raise a smile from someone than see them deflated. Have a good week hun 😊
This person has probably never had a weight problem so they are unlikely to appreciate the effort it has taken to stick to something/change a habit.
15lbs is a huge difference , have you ever picked up one of those 5lbs fat jelly things..very heavy and carrying that around for 5 minutes would hurt my arms.
15.5 lbs is like the weight of two newborn babies! or a sperm whale's brain! Of a 19 inch flat screen TV! You are no longer carrying a 19inch TV around with you. You have done brilliantly.
Hi Shellie - that is a great result! Just over 1lb a week so good steady progress which is what you should be looking to do. Your friend seems a bit ignorant but the truth is that so many people who have never had an issue with food simply have no understanding how hard it is to lose weight and keep it off. Thankfully most on this forum do and we are here to support you and truly understand your achievements.
So well done you - you know how well you are doing and your friend had best hush!
Slow and steady is working for me. Not overly strict on my intake and thoroughly enjoying my food, this is keeping me on the straight and narrow. I would also like to try and give my body plenty of time to try and let my skin shrink with me. Having been stretched for many years, I am sure I am not the only one who is a little anxious that they may be left with loose skin.
The support on here is fab, full of upbeat positive ideas and encouragement. Everyday life has enough 'doom and gloom' sometimes, so thankfully this forum has little of that.
Hi ShellieL, congratulations on losing 1 1/2 lbs this week and for losing 15 1/2 lbs in total. You have done an AMAZING job and should be super pleased. I am super pleased for you hun. I am glad to read that this person is not a personal friend of yours as you don't need to be surrounded by negativity only positivity.
WELL DONE YOU and good luck for week 12....bring it on !
Couldn't agree with you more. His flippant remark has just made me more determined to keep at it. I like the pace I am losing weight. I don't restrict myself too much and thoroughly enjoy what I eat, which for me is what food should be about. I personally think if I had gone all out and been super strict, I would not be able to say I am 11 weeks in and over a stone lighter - truly I think I would have jacked it in at around week 3. The support on here is amazing too and I feel encouraged and like to try and give encouragement where I can. Thankyou 😊
Well done Shellie. The fact that you stuck to it and are still doing it is just amazing. Some people don't realise how hard it is to stick to these things and achieve the results we want. be happy
