So ... My first week is done ... I stayed within my calories and except used over the recommended amount of time burning over 1600 cals but lost nothing in weight!

Will give it another week and try to drink more water ... Tough to keep motivated when that happens :(

Keep going it sounds like you are doing great. Drink lots of water and make sure you note down everything you eat. Sometimes we don't realise when we take nibbles, it's easy to do.

Good luck for the coming week.

Hi Audrey,

Don't loose heart, I know the scales do not always give us the results we hope for.

Did you measure yourself before starting, I have found that inch loss also gives a good boost when the scales don't.

Try to put week behind you and focus on how good this one is going to be.

Have a fab week

😇

Hi Aubrey, Well Done!! You've done your first week! When you do something stuff happens - there might be a lag between action and response, though! Your experience is very common - my second week was exactly yours.

Here is what I did!

• Check my Calories - got the kitchen scales out and for a week or so became a Calorie Fascist! My idea of portion size was way way out.

• Got a much better set of scales - expensive, accurate, well reviewed ones even cheap electronic ones are inconsistent.

• Started measuring. I might not loose much weight but I can see CMs going.

• Resolved to see the 12 weeks out to see what happened (Currently on week 6 and nearly 10KG lighter - even the family noticed :-))

Whats your weight loss target? Is that 1600 Cals Burn a Day? Thats a lot in a day but you have to have a calorie deficit of around 3000 to loose 500g. Can your scales measure 500g?

You might need better metrics.

The thing is, you've decided to do something and you've taken action so just carry on! Give it another 11 weeks and pretty soon you'll see some results. Keep in touch with the forum, you'll get plenty of support. What often happens is people get despondent and either give up, think whats the point and over eat again because of the confusion or frustration - you did something different - you asked a question!

Keep your focus & motivation!

Keep going. You are eating healthier you will get healthier. You didn't put on weight like I have been doing . Since April I have put on 7 kg. Till this Tuesday when I got a big wake up call. Love yourself enough to keep going. You can do this. Maybe you need to reduce the allowance a bit.... Keep going we are cheering you on
