Last week, the first full week of the summer holidays I ate perfectly, exercised 4 days in a row...Thursday to Monday I had a bout of the dreaded two Bob bits...how much did I lose? ONE FECKING MEASLEY POUND! I literally ate nothing for 4 days and shit out my stomach lining and I still couldn't lose a decent amount...I have the worse metabolism in the world and my body hates me!!

putting on weight by just looking at food and not being able to lose a single pound ¬_¬

it's so discouraging.

But just keep at it <3 perhaps metabolism gets better slowly but surely?

I bet it catches up with you in a week's time and you lose the weight then. I feel like my weight seems to depend on what I ate a few weeks previously.

You'll need to let your body get into fat consumption mode to start to lose weight! As Anthony said - your metabolism will catch up! The other thing is - how good are your scales? Cheap ones, mechanical or digital will give you variable and inaccurate readings.

Give it chance and in fact give it the six weeks to make a difference. I'm on week 6 and people are asking me how much I've lost. Won't take long!

If your metabolism IS really slow the one way to improve it is increase your muscle mass - strength exercises.

If you work at it you can increase your lean muscle mass by 5 pounds in about 2 months.

That would then mean you are burning an additional 250 calories a day - about the equivalent of a 30 minute walk!

Also about 15 minutes before you got for your walk or jog or whatever it is have a cup of REAL coffee (not instant). The caffeine helps to push your metabolism up while you exercise and you then burn more fat.

Wait AT LEAST 3 hours before exercising if you have had any carbs. If you exercise after having say some toast or a potato your body burns the carbs not the fat.

Best time of the day is first thing in the morning for exercise.

Are you calorie counting? Are you logging all the food you eat?

Portion sizes and missed bits here and there can all add up to more weight.

Try out this podcast - its a GREAT one for people like us trying to lose weight.

I KNOW you can do this. You gained the weight over many years.

you can't expect to make it disappear in a few months.

Keep at it!!

Don't be disheartened, remember you still lost a 1lb well done. I had this my first week I lost 2lb but I'm only half way through the second week and already lost 3lb, please keep at it and remember we are all here to support you. Also sounds silly but are you eating enough because if you've been starving yourself your body goes into starvation mode and starts to store your fat, my fitness pal is a great app to help you keep check of your calorie, fat and sugar intake. Good luck. :)

You must eat something small and healthy every 2 - 3 hours 5 or 6 times a day to keep your metabolism going. When you wake in the morning drink 1 pint of water to start your metabolism off then away you go.

Not what you're looking for?
