They will be like jelly, first ride for 25 yrs! But you'll adapt now you've started. Look up some hamstring stretches to do next time, and make sure you're topped up on minerals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium (a banana beforehand is good). When's your next ride

Lol I too can relate to that jelly legs feeling was on my bike for first time in over a year .But boy did I feel chuffed with myself !

Enjoy the jelly legs - when you go further it is jelly legs plus as very sore bottom. All good, cycling is so much fun and taking it up again has for me been the highlight of trying to lose weight!
Bike design has improved a lot so if you are finding it really tough blame the bike you are using and try others. Also Wonderful things have happened to bike pumps in the last twenty years. 🚴
My hubby bought me a new bike....most unlike any I have ever ridden lol....its a hybrid and lovely to ride....have just ordered padded shorts due to sore bottom lol xxx
