Starting wk6: Looking at the positives...

Okay so I haven't posted since I started the 12 plan, but I check in daily and seeing how everyone is coping, spurs me on.

Today was weigh in 5 and it was the first week I have not lost. I'd be lying if I didn't admit I'm disappointed, but I'm pleased that I haven't gained either. Overall, I've done pretty darn good so far (if I say so myself!)

Starting weight: 10st 6.5lbs

Wk1: -5lb

Wk2: -3.5lb

Wk3: -2.5lb

Wk4: -2lb

Wk5: No change

Current weight: 9st 7.5lbs

15lbs left to lose = skinny-malinx

Truth is, I'm not allowing the negative thoughts or guilt to take over. Yes I slipped, I overdid it Saturday morning, but my hubbie's AMAZING choc chip American pancakes are worth it and so was the pink watermelon fizz we shared last night. I didn't use myfitnesspal last week and although I was 'good' most of the time I'm better judging how I'm doing when I keep track so back to that this week.

Another positive is that today I will have completed my first week of the couch to 5k. I've always hated running (because I can't do it!), but doing so well on the nhs plan and the support on these forums has me convinced that I'll be able to run the full 30mins come week 9! And even more surprisingly I'm really enjoying it!

Positive number 3. My hubbie has supported me and embraced the nhs plan too. I'm so proud that he has lost every week including today, a whopping 18lbs in total so far!

Positive number 4. We have tried (and will continue to try) loads of new healthy family meals and have changed our eating habits for the better. We have 3 children, 3, 2 and 3mths (yes - our house is crazy and we love it!) and now we all eat the same, all the time (as oppose to the kids eating healthy all the time and us having a mix of healthy/processed/take away dinners) It's been great fun experimenting and I feel pretty chuffed as a breastfeeding mum, knowing that the babs is getting the same goodness, without me relying on multi vitamins as I did before.

So as you can see, I have a lot to feel good about and this weeks 'no change' will motivate me to shift the next pound. This will not only see me joining the "one stone lost" club, but put me halfway to my target.

Bring it on!

Thanks hun, loved your post about plucking your eyebrows - hilarious. You have better willpower than me with making all those fairy cakes! Since starting this, I've made 'healthy' cakes with my little ones so I don't have to miss out on having some ;)

Well done on your success so far it looks like you and your family are really seeing the benefits of your "change for life". Good luck for the next weigh-in :)

Thanks hun, not sure if you've looked it up. I meant the nhs 12 week plan. It's a calorie counting diet - it's were I heard about the c25k. The 'weight loss NHS' forum is really supportive and the myfitnesspal app is amazing at keeping track of everything.
