I posted a while ago when I first started my diet and in that first week I lost 3lb eventhough I didn't stick to my calorie limit on 2-3 of the days. I have not had the motivation to carry on but I have given myself some time and I am going to restart tomorrow.

Congratulations on losing 3 pounds in your first week on your diet. You're wise to give yourself the time you need, and the fact you're re-starting tomorrow suggests that you feel ready to do so.

Good luck, re focus and start again! Personally it's all in the mind, I some years ago, challenged myself and to how and why certain foods , had comforted me over the years, did help too
