I haven't been able to go out for my walk today and that is my main source of exercise. My solution today was to do the "Chicken dance" for 30 minutes throughout the day. Anyone else with a silly exercise? :)

Thats great sounds like fun, i found a fun way to clean the kitchen floor i spray the floor then stand on a tea towel and dance and shuffle about to clean it lol looks daft but makes cleaning the floor fun

I watched a programme called Truth About Calories, three families ate a 600 calorie breakfast then 1 family went to the gym, 2nd family did the housework and 3rd family sat on the sofa all day. Result...the family that did the housework worked off almost as many calories as the family who went to the gym so...I play my favourite music (loudly) and put my heart and soul into the dusting!

I watched the programme too and I do work harder with my housework to burn up some extra calories now.

Haha, sounds intriguing! I've been walking up and down the stairs three times every time I leave the house lol! Every little helps aye! 🌺

I'm sitting on a chair with my back straight and sit up and then down etc. Seems to work. :)

Ah I see, yeah it's quite tiring actually isn't it! It's one of my physio exercises, good for strengthening up those thighs! Lol! 🌺

I like all those comments.

And I don't think you're particularly silly, but if it works for you and it's fun then that's what's needed. TBH when I see people doing line dancing or zumba I think they're daft, but I don't say it out loud.

Workout ant the gym isn't as useful as it's made out to be. You can get nearly as much result doing the housework. And we're not exactly training for a marathon on Antarctica, are we? There's a concept called "NEAT" non exercise activity thermogenesis. A fancy way of saying any activity is good. So even if it's doing bar bells in you chair with 2 tins of beans, what's the problem? I sometimes stand to do my computer work. I do tai chi while watching tv.

I don't fancy going to a gym so I'm increasing my activity. Feel so much better and so glad I'm doing it now. Just in time for me too!
