Advice needed

When it comes to dieting I always seem to start off really well and lose a couple of pounds but then I find myself slipping into my old habits of eating late at night when I come in from work or eating too much of the wrong thing. Has anyone got any advice to keep me motivated? Thanks

Been there ...done that last year...did 12 week plan...then few months later started putting weight back on...so back on 12 week diet..with more exercise..especially on the stomach...tried stomach exercise last year..gave up as could not do even do one sit up..my advice..find something you like doing, walking, running, swimming..or even walking up down stairs...change your way slowly..dont do it all at once..eat more at lunch time..drink lots of water...take up a hobby..dont give up...have a good week..set a goal...

Its all about finding what works for you long term, see it as a lifestyle change not a diet. I have several things that keep me motivated

1. A scrapbook of my progress and goals.

2. I bought a goal dress 3 months ago i can now fit. still got weight to lose so have a few items to aim towards.

3. Motivating sentiments dotted around my home

4. Remind myself regularly why im doing this

5. Reading other peoples stories and sharing mine on this forum really helps. Such supportive motivating people on here

Some of these may not work for everybody so find what works for you, also make changes that are easy to stick to i.e. always eat breakfast, no biscuits or chocolate in the house. Set yourself a reward at each step of your weight loss. I bought myself some clothes next size down after id been doing this for 2 months, was motivating seeing the clothes sizes going down :-) all the best stay strong

I have found using MyFitnessPal has helped with portion control and by logging everything that passes my lips it has kept me honest and on my calorie target 😉

What is MyFitnessPal?

It's a free app which has a calorie counter, basically you enter your height, weight and age, it then gives you a calorie target. Each day you log everything that passes your lips and all the exercise you do, it then shows you if you're within target ... It's really easy to use and even has a barcode scanner so you can scan your ingredients/food so less scrolling through lists ... I have found it really helpful! Good luck 👍

Thank you it is great, it will make the calorie counting part so much easier. 😃
