I advise everyone who is aiming to lose weight, to use only one scale if possible as results vary from scale to scale. Ideally leave the scale in a single place as this can also affect the outcome.

i do leave them in one place but they are about 15 years old

15 years?! Ignore the size of the number shown on the scale, just focus on reducing it! Remember water retention can add much weight although I don't include this when weighing myself but others do! Just keep up the good work, it will pay off!

How annoying! Don't let it get you down. One pound off is the same whether they are new or old scales.

Oh Matey, what a complete bummer, really. Bet you are really fed up, does not change the fact you've lost weight these past few weeks though.

Get yourself down to yourself down to your Doctors or Boots the Chemist, get yourself weighed and come straight home and weigh on both sets, see which is the most accurate.

thanks mate i,ll do that

"o my gosh"! Steve put the new ones away or even better throw off the hard shoulder, but do something with em. This is not a good result to say the least. I would say that the nothing beats the way things were made back in the day, they were made to last even if the old ones are 15 yrs old.

As MattBond said "use only one scale" as results do vary from scale to scale.

I know yo how you feel - I had new scales which showed a higher weight when they were on carpet than on wood floor. I felt a bit depressed about this so just put them in the best place for me to see the weight I am at the lowest possible weight. Check that you have them adjusted properly in the first place. If you were to take them to your Drs surgery they might check them for you. The doctors scales are supposed to be correctly weighing.

Don't just go by scales Steve they've been telling me fibs for ages, what about your clothes do they feel looser and how do you feel in your self do you feel lighter. I have been over weight for so long that now I've lost a bit I do really feel different and I could still call Myself fat Mick and not Grandad.

But what ever don't give up trying.
