I have just joined. I have lost a total of 9kg but still need to lose about 40kg!!! My biggest problem is that I am disabled and need two crutches just to walk unaided! I feel very frustrated by this. Even swimming, I cannot let go of the side as I tip upside down.

Losing weight is mostly about getting your food right, to suit you and the way your body works. Different things work for different people. Perhaps have a look at this recent post from OlsBean, it might be helpful.
I have been losing weight on the low carb and high fat diet, some diets work better for some people which I have found this does, as like you I limited mobility as I am waiting for surgery. The food on this can be a little expensive but it probably is not that much more.As im not able to excersise much at present I can put a stone on in four weeks which is not helpful. You can look this diet up on Authority nutrition hope this may help you.
