I started gentle exercise today may take a while to get back into it. When i was younger i did karate, horse riding, bodybuilding, dancing etc etc but have not been able to do anything for a few tears due to ill health. Oh well onwards and upwards.

Exercise
Wow you used to do alot, hopefully your body will remember and get fitter quicker. You can always hope anyway. Take your time you will get there
Well your body will remember doing all the excessive as soon as it's well again, I have recovered from bowel cancer and my bowel habits. Stop me from doing any excersise fifty foot away from a lu.
so, I miss my walking club and a lot of outdoor activity. So loosing weight is down to what I eat, and that's hard some days. Good to hear I'm not on my lonesome, in the struggle.
Walking is a great way to start getting back to fitness. When I can't get outside I do the Walk at Home Leslie Sansone walking videos on YouTube. These start at a gentle one mile youtu.be/ndVjwkaLGDk which takes about 15 minutes and you can take them at your own pace.
On the lighter side, are you sure you have AF or are you just "'worn out' from the earlier part of your life? I was getting tired just reading your past activities. Jim
You'll probably find that your active earlier life has stood you in good stead. My husband was a very active sporty guy in his youth. Swimming, running, rugby, cycling, belonged to a rowing club on the Thames, was very active, a non-smoker. Now 80, he's survived a lot and I'm sure it's because of his basically healthy and strong constitution.
I believe the crossfit is a good fit for everybody I am almost 62.
The workout for the day (wod) can be adjusted for anyone's ability. I was diagnosed with parkinson's nine years ago. I now do crossfit five to six times a week. I take very few medications. Crossfit has improved my ability to do everything I need to do on a daily basis. I do not tire easily. The exercises are done in a group situation. And everyone encourages you no matter what fitness level you're at.
I have found that the coaches at all crossfit boxes are willing to take on a challenge.
I ride horses too. It's the only form of exercise that works every single muscle. They have started recommending it for people with chronic back problems...25 mins sitting on a horse walking around does a better physio job than any human...apparently!
Good luck with everything
