Oh wow thanks for the information regarding the weight watchers meals. They are so handy when you are too busy to cook etc., I am also following slimming world but I am not going back to the classes, I am going to do it on my own (hopefully!!!) I have also started back in the gym and doing pump fit also. Watch this space hahaha!!!

By all means follow slimming world which works well for many. But if you struggle with the final 5-6lbs ( which many of us have) then you may find some careful calorie counting works better . Many of us use myftnesspal for this, its so so easy to log everything and it calculates every food you can think of. I had 27lbs to lose. The first 18 lbs was a steady pound a week, then it slowed down. I now have 6 lbs to go and its proving much more difficult, only ounces at a time!

Hi Big Daddy

I lost 20 kilos (42 pounds or three stone) on the 5:2 Diet (Fast Diet) in six months but I know others who have lost loads more. It's totally free to do and the results are amazing. Countless thousands have had spectacular results this way. What's more important is that it's very easy to maintain your weight loss after you've lost the weight you want to, instead of piling it all back on again.

The diet (or way of life) stemmed from a marvellous BBC Horizon programme called "Eat, Fast and Live Longer" in August 2012 which is on iPlayer tinyurl.com/qzgo7tq or tinyurl.com/a8ppjl7 if you can't see iPlayer.

I learned from it to switch to eating from smaller plates and I stopped nibbling in the evenings - too large portions are most people's problem nowadays.

Then Kate Harrison brought out her book The 5:2 Diet in October 2012 - I followed her instructions and by April all my excess weight had gone! It's really easy, and only two days a week rather than dieting every day. I used MyFitnessPal to log my calories, also free.

I was featured in the Daily Mail on Wednesday tinyurl.com/m7rqecq amongst other success stories.

Good luck, and please ask me any questions you like.

Linda

Hi there

you can do it, I am about to complete my second week and second weigh in. i am on a stone in 9 week journey as part of a 3 stone overall. my tip would be set a smaller goal and work to that until you are in the routine of healthy eating and lifestyle change.

Not what you're looking for?
