Well week one was unbelievably easy! Strangely I didn't even feel hungry on the days I had made my mind up to fast, although I ŵoke up hungry the next day. At the moment I am being fairly sensible about what I eat on the other days, but not calorie counting. How did it work for you when you had the odd splurge? Eg Christmas?

I just try to eat quite sensibly over Christmas and for me it's just the one blow-out day. Life is for living! What I tend to do before Christmas and holidays is to do 5:2 instead of 6:1 for a few weeks beforehand so I'm at my lowest weight and then it doesn't do too much damage.

When I was actively trying to lose weight I found it easy to just have my fasting days around the festivities - and I always move my fasting days around to suit my social life anyway - as long as I still do them.

I did count calories every day when I was 'dieting' on MyFitnessPal as otherwise I can tend to be a bit silly!

Hi Gingernut,

Well I am planning to be flexible with my fast days. As you say, life is for living! I think maybe I should try and calorie count on the other days, so I don't go mad, but maybe not be too worried if it is around 1800 on the odd day. I did try to keep under 1200 as that was what the website said I needed to do to lose weight for my height and BMI. But I found it so restrictive and regularly went over, which in turn made me lose heart. Funny that I found it so easy to keep to 500 on the fast days.

Anyway thanks for your support.
