its the booze!!

You have described me exactly - except I do without the crisps. I am no stranger to the cheese box however
Good luck, and well done on making such a positive first step
I daren't drink wine in the evenings as I'm exactly the same! When I was trying to lose weight I stopped having any alcohol in the house and dropped three stone in six months on the 5:2 diet!
You said it all smidge! None in the house is a good one.
I found the same. I went Sober for October and found that that has been great - largely because I seem to fall over if I drink more than a glass of wine now. That said, I have discovered sainsbury's low alcoholic Czech lager (500ml, 19 calories a bottle). I don't like sweet things much so this has been a really good alternative as it feels like drinking an alcoholic drink but it isn't one. Also, there's loads of it in a bottle which also staves off hunger pangs.
Hi Smidge,
Am exactly the same - can stick to a food and exercise plan and steadily lose weight but as soon as I open a bottle of wine it all goes out the window and then the snacking starts! This is something that is working for me at the moment - I have downloaded a free app to my phone called Drinkaware - you log all your alcohol drinks or no alcohol days depending on what kind of day you're having and it shows you how many units you've had over the last seven days and their calorie equivalent together with how many minutes of running your would have to do to burn it off! It's been a real eye-opener for me.
Good luck with your weight loss efforts.
Best wishes
