After years of yo-yo dieting and half baked efforts at getting fit, I have decided once and for all to get fit and healthy. I want to have a stunning bod as I enter my 50th year next year!
5 weeks ago I joined a gym, and signed up for 3 Triathlons next year! All of them are super sprints, 200m swim, 15k bike ride and 2.5 to 3k run.
So far I have lost a stone in weight dropped from a 16 to a 14 clothes size and have more energy than I know what to do with!
I do weight and strength and conditioning 5 times per week, 3 spin classes and lane swim twice a week.
Has anyone else had a mid life crisis like this? Please share your story and just confirm that I am not too mad!!

You are doing fantastic, never too old to get fit. I did a couple of triathlons in my late 40's (I am 61 now) I found the hardest part the transition from cycling to running so worth putting in plenty of practice of this rather than doing all the disciplines separate. I took up horse riding last year, having never even sat on one before. All the grooming, mucking out etc. let alone the actual riding all good exercise! Now all I have to do is get my eating in order.
How spooky Maggie, I am actually a BHSAI and taught horse riding for a huge number of years and evented to a fairly decent level! I gave up the horses 16 years ago, hence the weight gain.
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated, and good luck for your weight loss!
