Need to lose 4 stone. Eat too much of the wrong food and don't move around enough. Would like help in what I should eat and how to get started. Feel overwhelmed with it all. Don't think I can do this but know I need to. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks...

You have reached a good place to be! You are among friends here and everyone will try to help. I started about 6 weeks ago with two and a half stone to lose because I'm only 5ft 3ins, a couch potato-like creature because of arthritis in knee and hip. I have been following the NHS 12 week plan and gradually increasing my exercise levels. It is actually working! I have lost 9 lbs already and have made huge progress with getting more active every day. I don't even feel as though I am on a diet because I've made the sensible changes suggested and won't find it hard to stay with it.
There is a weigh-in every Monday morning which LowCal invites us to join in. I think it os the Monday weigh-in that helps me not to go mad at the weekend :-). Hope this helps.

Thanks for your encouragement. It's all a bit overwhelming as I too am a couch potato with bad joints due to weight and lack of exercise. What types of meals do you eat? Where do you get information from on the right types of food. So much information out there I don't know where to start. Thanks
Just going for a walk is the best type of exercise to start with.
