I'm allergic to wheat and eggs and most diets seem to include loads of both so I really struggle. Help!!
Hi the best thing to do is eat foods that you like (dont worry about what you can't eat) think about all the great things you can eat !!
eat them in the correct portion sizes -use the nhs guideon size & number of portions a day for each type of food eg carbs,protein,dairy etc etc
keep an eye on eating a varied diet so you dont get bored -include lots of fruit & veg -try some different ones !
try to keep sugar & fat down - do some exercise and the weight will drop off - honestly - i have done it myself !!

I think that the problem is I miss the things I can't have so substitute in stuff (usually chocolate) that I can eat. Just need to break the cycle!!

I can't eat anything with gluten in, along with some vegetables, and some dairy, but as Carbootaddict says - concentrate on what you can eat. There are some interesting alternatives to wheat and a lot of recipes without wheat and eggs in, as long as you don't have to rely on ready made processed foods.
Indian food is usually wheat free, apart from the naan bread.
This is one link that may be useful, although you are unlikely to need as much protein as suggested.

I'd recommend you ask your GP practice for a referral to get some input from a dietician.
If you have specific diet restricitions, cutting down generally, in order to promote weight loss, could limit the amount of nutrition you take in.
And it's important, especially when losing weight, to ensure you are taking in the full range of nutritents. For sure cut back a bit on the fats and sugars, but you still need lots of other nutrients to ensure your body stays in optimum health.
I don't eat gluten or diary but I have found some really good alternatives for most of them now. Most large supermarkets now store gluten free foods and to honest: most are delicious!! The one thing I can't substitute now is cheese.. but to honest, after not having it for so long I don't even miss it now.
A lot of the gluten free breads and pastas are quite nice but try a few different brands to find your favourite. Some can be dry so I recommend toasting them to begin with until you get used to the fact they can be dry.
As for recipes with loads of gluten and diary in: I generally just skip past these and look for ones which are easier to adapt. Hope this helps.
