An advent of ideas 24: celebration!

I feel very strongly that if we celebrate well (that's not stuffing yourself until you feel ill or getting drunk) then moderation the rest of the time is much easier. I know for some here there's a transition that happens where traditional celebratory foods are no longer appealing, but I would find that idea quite offputting. I believe that celebration involving special foods is common to all cultures, so it may be something very important to us as a species and has only gone awry amidst general plenty.

Happy Christmas!

A wise and timely thought - thank you! Too easy to overeat simply because there's so much extra food around! Your comment reminds me to use the many other ways to celebrate, especially at this tine of year - candles, music, making time for friends etc.......
