Juicing and weightloss
Hi bury527,
The immediate problem I can see with it is that fruits contain quite a lot of sugar (Fructose) and that's not too much of a problem because it's quite a natural way to take in sugar and it's not "added" glucose or sucrose.
BUT, that sugar occurs naturally firmly entrenched within the flesh of the fruits which are a significant source of fibre and is removed by the process of juicing.
In nutrition terms, my view is that you'd be better off without the juicer - just eat the fruit!
Fructose may not raise your blood sugar like glucose, but it places a load on the liver where it is metabolised. Too much fructose can contribute to obesity, diabetes and liver problems. As Doiksop says, eat the fruit so that you get the nutrients plus fibre.
This article is by Lustig, who is an American obesity expert, he's pretty worried about fructose!

You could possibly try combining veg and fruit, with not too much fruit.
I echo all above. Sugar is the real enemy of anyone trying to lose weight, whatever form it comes in. Fructose is particularly bad in terms of cravings. Because the brain recognises the sweetness it expects a lot of energy to follow. When that doesn't happen you then crave more sweet things and energy-packed foods. Good luck with that!
Juicing is amazing and as much as the previous responses are correct there is a lot more to it.
I would recommend checking out Jason Vale he is amazing in breaking it all down and has some really good plans from 3 days to 28.
Here's a link to his website, juicemaster.com/ you can also find him on Facebook. I suppose what I'm getting at is give it a go, not all of the juices are just fruit the majority incorporate vegetables as well.
I hope this helps and let me know how you get on!
