£5 Exercise card

Hi to All,

I just heard today that GP services are offering a £5 exercise card valid for 3 months in any local government fitness club for people with certain health condition.

I will confirm it tonight.

Ps.. just sharing a funny quote that I read ages ago

I don't exercise at all. If God had wanted me to touch my toes He would have put them up higher on my body.

We have an equivalent to that here in Wales. Doctors can send patients on a 16 week free course with local leisure centres. Here's the blurb.

WHAT IS ‘Health for Life’?

The ‘Health for Life’ Scheme is designed to aid individuals who

have been identified by their Medical Practitioner to take up the

benefits of participating in enjoyable exercise.

As that individual, you will receive an individual 16-week activity

programme designed specifically to your needs and will be under

the guidance of Cardiff Council’s highly qualified Health and

Fitness Team.

During the 16 weeks of your programme, activities within Cardiff

Council Leisure Facilities will be charged at a concessionary rate.

I am so lucky. I know there are referral schemes here as well, but for £15.00 a month for an individual or £20.00 for a family we have unlimited use of the sports centre for all sports, use of the gym, steam, jacuzzi & sauna, aquafit classes, jog Scotland on the running track, spin classes etc. That is amazing value!
