That's week one done

Week one out of the way and I've lost 8lbs!

Quite pleased with that really, the first few days were the hardest along with the evenings (which are comfort eating times for me).

Just need to increase my exercise levels now. I'm no couch potato but a bit of structured exercise wouldn't go amiss.

Wow, what an amazing first week weight loss - you must be feeling great.

Hope you have a good week this week.

Best wishes,

Thanks Lowcal, I think it's more a relief that the plan works and gives me the drive to continue.

I also comfort eat in the evenings ( or used to) I now set myself an evening project. (shred mail, weeding, a little bit painting, anything I don t get a chance to do when the kids are here. Might work for you x

Hi missworld, you're right, keeping yourself (or at least your mind) occupied with something more useful is the key to overcoming comfort eating. I still do it but I have a fraction of the amount I used to have. I'm still a work in progress though!

Wow 8 lbs in one week congratulations - what sort of diet are you following?

Thanks tallguy360. I'm restricting my calorie intake to less than 1,900 calories a day. I use the My Fitness Pal app on my phone to keep track of calories and exercise which makes it both really easy to count what you've consumed and at the same time make you really think about what you eat and drink. Also, for me at least, I've addressed my reasons for over or comfort eating and instead of using them as an excuse to eat I'm blaming them for making me over eat!! Works for me.

I also never deny myself my favourite foods I just eat much smaller portions, so if I fancy some chocolate, I have have a very small bar and count it in my calorie tracker so if I eat high calorie foods it impacts on the quantity I have left for the rest of the day, that's an incentive to restrict the amount of high calorie foods.
