Hello everyone,
I’d come across this group a few days ago and I’ve really appreciated reading through everyone’s different stories and struggles with pcos.
I’m 29 and have been trying for a baby for 12 months. I’d been diagnosed with pcos a year and a half ago after being on the contraceptive pill since I was 16. 3/4 years ago I made the decision to come off the pill and this is when my pcos symptoms started.
I realised something was wrong a year after coming off the pill when my periods were still outside the ‘normal’ cycle length. After hearing the news from my GP that I had pcos I was rather distraught and confused. I didn’t get much help from my doctors and was left hanging with this news and no real advice. It’s taken over a year to get referred by the NHS to the fertility client at which I’m still waiting to hear on an appointment.
During this waiting period I decided to take matters into my own hands and go private. Once my partner (who’s sperm is also not at full health) was tested I was then prescribed with Impryl, which I take every morning and night.
Impryl has worked wonders with my cycle and I now have a period every 30 days. I know everyone’s bodies are very different but I’d really recommend trying Impryl if you’re also looking to regulate your periods...BUT, on the downside, I’m personally finding my emotions all over the place, which seems exaggerated due to the medication. Has anyone else come across this?
Any advice would be really appreciated
