Hello, I’m new here!
I got diagnosed when I was 18, but because I wasn’t interested in children at that time, it basically got swept under the rug and I stayed on contraception to help my periods and acne.
I am now 26, and I’m wanting to start a family. We have been trying since September and I have had two, quite short, periods. I’m also taking Folic acid and Zinc (the zinc seems to have regulated me a bit). I had a chat with a GP at my practice and she seemed very unsympathetic and clinical when talking to me, the usual regular sex etc etc, and initially said they could refer me after 2 years (!!) of trying, I got her to budge down to 1 year after repeatedly telling her I had polycystic ovaries, she just kept saying getting pregnant naturally is better and time is on my side, like I don’t already know that!
I’m wanting to get more tests to look further into it now I’m older, I don’t think I ovulate at all and it’s really starting to bother me, to the point where I think having sex is pointless
But I don’t know how to go about it? I’m not a very pushy person and I just don’t want to go round in circles with the GP, I need to lose some weight, I understand that, but I just feel I want them to understand more and be more progressive with it, how do I go about this?
Any advice will be much appreciated
