Been TTC for a year, I have PCOS and have been asked to get my BMI to 29 before I go on to Clomid. I have been in a great headspace of late, really motivated and positive. I have gone from a size 18/20 to a 12/14 and only have a stone to go before I hit my BMI target. So things are positive, well as positive they can be when your TTC.
My question is... how do people cope when they see friends, family and work colleagues share their baby news, photos, and memories on social media. I went online this morning and an old colleague shared a picture of her new baby and her partner holding baby in their kitchen for the first time. I am so happy for them but my heart shattered and I just wondered if people had any advice on how to over come these moments of heartache?

I dont cope hun I just try and block it out and ignore it its hard when it's shoved in your face though - I deleted my social media that really helped xx
I've, had 3 early miscarriages and a late miscarriage and I'm 36, nearly 37. I would say you have age your side. I got pregnant every year around Xmas time. I believe I was more relaxed around this time.
For me the late miscarriage, which to me is pretty much having a stillborn was the most traumatic. And as someone commented below, I went off Facebook at least, 4 people where having girls, same as me, when I was supposed to be due. It was too tough to see their journeys. I only have Instagram, and even this morning someone put a pic of being 20 weeks pregnant, close to when I lost my baby.
Unfortunately you can't get away from it Katie Perry, Gigi.. And other celebs will also have babies.
You can't help how you feel, I think it helps alot when it's not soo in your face all the time. I still get upset seeing prams and pregnant women.
Good luck with your journey. You are a good age and well done on loosing the weight too. It all helps giving you better chances as you know.
It must be so so tough for you TTC for 2 and a half years with no joy and very little help. It seems there is so much of that out there!
What have I done? What havent I done haha!
It has taken me SO long to find something that works but since being diagnosed with PCOS I have done loads of research and have found a brilliant Podcast... now the presenters are a smidge irritating but they are so informative and have really helped me work on my health. Its called Cyster and her Mister, they have some really interesting things to say and had some really great Dr's on there talking about the links between diet and PCOS. I have just ordered The PCOS Plan by Dr Nadia Pateguana and Dr Jason Fung. I am already obsessed and read part of it on the Amazon Look inside thing, its great and they have made huge strides in helping women with PCOS... even reversing it in some cases.
Otherwise... What do I do...
-Calorie count I stay between 1200-1400 per day this means that at the weekend I have flexibility to go up to 1800 per day and still be in a calorie deficit
-I eat hardly any fruit (you can eat fruit but its about balancing sugar so mangos and bananas arent good but apples and berries are), limited carbs and limited dairy. I still eat cheese and bread but maybe once a week or once every 2 weeks. Its about balance. FYI I cant live without cheese and bread so this has been a big issue for me balancing my passion for food and loosing weight to get my insulin levels under control.
-I take Inofolic Alpha twice a day, its shown to have the same effect as Metformin just without the side effects. I take vitamin D and cod-liver oil
-I have a PT 3 times a week for resistance training and then aim to walk a minimum of 11000 steps but ideally 15000.
-I aim to eat 4 of my 5 a day
-I have cut sugar down massively and try and stay at around 30g a day (harder than you think)
-I use Skinoren on my skin for my acne and for my hair I use L'oreal Paris Elvvie I always wash my hair with shampoo twice and then condition and dont use heat on it much
-I drink 6-8 glasses of water
-I have limited caffeine and only have it when I am out, at home I have decaf
-I drink alcohol once a week as a maximum
-After I have done all that I cross my fingers and pray to the baby gods ha
It sounds like I do LOADS but its becoming more of a lifestyle now and the more I research it the more I will alter things to suit me.
I dont stop myself having anything I just compromise with myself... if I want lasagna at the weekend I am SUPER strict all week. I have downfalls and it hasnt been easy but its little wins and remembering that just because I ate an amazing Marks and Spencer cruffin on Sunday (it was INSANELY good) it doesnt undo what I have done and I just need to get back on that horse
If I can loose 10lb I can start Clomid, so thats the goal. If I fall pregnant before then fantastic!
The way I see it is this is my first opportunity to do something for my future baby, my empty 3rd bedroom will be a nursey and I will be an epic mum.
You will be a mum, no matter what you will be so please dont be despondent and down hearted.
If you ever want to PM me when you are having a tough day, please do. PCOS makes you feel alone and you arent alone. We are all in the same boat xx
